Get Strong! Martial Arts/Self Defense
Students will gain strength, confidence, and focus. This mix of martial arts covers a wide range of potential threats, and incorporates punching, blocking, kicking, grappling, joint locks/breaks and weapons in a safe setting. Our experienced instructors create a well-rounded approach to Martial Arts and Self Defense, drawing from the Jeet Kune Do concepts of Bruce Lee, including Lee Jun Fan Gung Fu, Muay Thai Kickboxing and Kali. Get Strong is appropriate for most ages and no experience is necessary.

John has studied several different systems over the years including Kali (Filipino Martial Arts), Lee Jun Fan Gung Fu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Western Boxing, Tae Kwon Do and Wrestling. While living in Los Angeles he had the opportunity to study with Guro Dan Inosanto and Guro Ron Balicki, who still provide inspiration and instruction today. He was also on the staff of Inside Kung Fu Magazine, producing their diverse instructional video catalog. Johns classes are high energy with the goal of motivating and challenging students of all levels. He guides his students to find their own love for the martial arts as they build strength, stamina, focus and confidence in their own abilities.

Mark has trained in martial arts for over 35 years in a wide variety of styles and systems including Kali, Muay Thai boxing, Jun Fan Kung Fu, Silat, Tae Kwon Do, Moo Duk Kwan, Aikido and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Martial arts not only provides one with a strong sense of self-defense while strengthening physical and mental abilities, but also offers the camaraderie of students, instructors and other martial artists.
Lifelong friendships are formed in the work one invests in the training and Mark believes this is one of the great rewards of martial arts.
