Protect Your Health

Update 3/11/20

As a follow-up to our previously published notices (2/27 and 3/5), we want to assure our members that Club Greenwood will continue to be a safe place to relax and enjoy a workout in a stress-free environment.

We are continuing to monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation through the CDC and recommend you do the same to keep you and your family safe.

Please do not come to the Club sick
If you are not feeling well, have a fever, or visible signs of illness we ask that you take the time to rest and recover. We promise missing a day won’t delay your fitness goals!

Wash, rinse, and repeat
Good handwashing practice involves immersing your hands in warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds. Wash in bubbles and wash often!

Cover your coughs and sneezes
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve, not with your hands. Using your hands will only further spread germs and viruses.

Disinfect your equipment
The flu virus can live on hard surfaces for an entire day! To kill flu germs, wipe-down equipment before and after use.

Hands-off for now
We have asked our employees to refrain from hands-on assisting during Pilates, Personal Training, group fitness and other workouts. In addition, high fives and handshakes can be replaced with nods and smiles for the time being. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth until you have properly washed your hands.

We are on the offense
Our club is fully stocked with hand sanitizer, X-wipes, tissues, paper towels and disinfectant spray. Please use them!

Rest assured, Club Greenwood has customized standard operating procedures in place, but we felt it necessary to implement the following new practices/services at the main and tennis clubs:

  • Added more hand sanitizer and X-wipe stations; including X-wipes in locker rooms to wipe down locker keypads
  • Set even more vigilant cleaning expectations for all team member positions in each department
  • Posted more reminders throughout the club to follow CDC recommendations
  • Instructors/Trainers/Members are wiping down equipment after Reformer, SGPT, Tribe and group fitness workouts
  • Ice for water bottles – we will provide a bag of ice for you to fill your water bottle vs. employees touching your personal water bottle
  • We have gloves available for anyone wishing to use them. We caution you to remember contaminated gloves will not keep you safe if you touch your face, nose and eyes. Frequent hand-washing with soap is still the best practice
  • To ensure the health and safety of our members, we are suspending the use of all yoga props effective Sunday, March 15. This includes blocks, blankets, bolsters, straps and community mats. You are welcome to bring your own props and are encouraged to purchase your own yoga mat as best practice. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please contact Malissa Schwamm, Yoga Manager, with any questions
  • A mobile cart with X-wipes, hand sanitizer, tissues, gloves and a wastebasket is available on each club level for use after class. Instructors are encouraging members to assist us by cleaning all equipment before returning it to the proper storage area (steps, BOSUs, free weights, bands, barbells, smart plates, foam rollers, mats, blocks, straps, etc.)

In 2008, Club Greenwood installed the Aquafusion Unified Ozone Laundry System. This system has a validated bacteria kill of OVER 99.999%, including superbugs such as MRSA, Aspergillus niger and C. diff.

On Monday, March 16, Club Greenwood is deploying Bio-Safe patented technology processes in our highest-traffic areas of the property. This technology converts municipal water into a powerful contaminant-removing, bacteria-killing agent that cleans and sanitizes without the use of chemicals. The engineered water destroys all microorganisms and is a powerful biofilm, fiber, and surface control agent used to disinfect and clean virtually any environment.

Bio-Safe’s Biological Fogging Services utilizes biocidal technology by filling an area/room with a fine mist of micron particles in a cold fogging process. These particles being so small, remain in the air long enough to kill any airborne or bacterial contamination. As the particles settle onto all surfaces, even those untouched by traditional chemical cleaning methods, the biocide continues to kill any surface contamination. This cold fogging process neutralizes over 300 molds, viruses, bacteria and allergens resulting in an extremely clean and microbial free environment.

The Technology is non-toxic and 100% Biodegradable, FDA and USDA approved, EPA Registered and environmentally safe.

Out of respect for your fellow members, it is important for you to know the CDC Recommended Information for Travelers, especially anyone traveling to Zone 3 identified countries. It is your responsibility to follow these recommendations in hopes of decreasing any chance of spreading the virus. CDC Travelers Link »

The addition of these practices/services, coupled with your personal responsibility will allow you to work out and recover in a healthy environment at Club Greenwood! Thank you for your cooperation.
