D.C. began his martial arts career in 1989 in the Marysville Washington Boys and Girls Club youth wrestling program. D.C. wrestled his way through college, was an NCAA All-American in 2003 and won several state championships during his collegiate career. He began Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2008 and has won the Copa Pacifico, Fight to Win Tournament of Champions and the IBJJF Masters Worlds Championship. The positive influences of Jiu Jitsu impact him on a daily basis at work, with his family and in his ability to grapple with the everyday challenges of life.
