D.C. began his martial arts career in 1989 in the Marysville, Washington Boys and Girls Club youth wrestling program. D.C. wrestled his way through college, was an NCAA All-American in 2003, and won several state championships during his collegiate career. He began Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2008 and has won the Copa Pacifico, Fight to Win Tournament of Champions and the IBJJF Masters Worlds Championship. The positive influences of Jiu-Jitsu impact him on a daily basis at work, with his family and in his ability to grapple with the everyday challenges of life.
