FAQ

The term “macronutrient” encompasses the key nutrients of our diet: carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. They make up the greatest portion of our daily needs and are one of the major factors in considering appropriate portions. A macro approach will ensure adequate fueling over simply “tracking calories.” It’s important to understand what foods we are eating and in what quantities, especially when we have performance and body composition goals!
We are happy to work with all diets and support you in the best way possible. There are some special considerations when it comes to plant-based diets. It’s important to discuss this with a nutrition professional to ensure you’re consuming the appropriate foods for your health.
We can help navigate specific dietary restrictions and teach you how to create dishes that are enjoyable
Food recommendations and recipes can be provided to help you reach your goals. We calculate your daily needs of calories and break them down into macronutrients based on your goals, health status and exercise regimen. Once we calculate your needs, we break the macronutrients down for each meal, snack, pre and post workout. We then convert the macronutrient quantities into example food options and portions.
Yes! We would first discuss your lifestyle, exercise regimen, health history and goals. Once we have gotten to know you, we will create a meal plan that will help you build muscle based on your calorie and macronutrient needs.
While tracking food is a tool that can help create autonomy in food choice and provide structure, it is not for everyone. We work to create an individualized approach for our clients. For some, tracking helps to teach about the makeup of foods, ensure adequate nutrition, accountability and learn a balanced approach. Tracking can also help us, help you. If for some reason you aren't meeting your goals, we can look at your journal (whatever form you are using) and troubleshoot to make any changes. For others, it’s an unhealthy practice that can become obsessive or detrimental to their health. We work with our clients to provide the best approach for them.
We believe in balance and enjoyment when it comes to meeting your nutrition needs! Eating out is a part of having a social life or a matter of convenience for busy people. We want to help you make this a part of your plan and teach you how to navigate these situations so you can reach your goals.
