Privacy Policy

The Greenwood Athletic Club Metropolitan District, a quasi-municipal corporation and a political subdivision of the State of Colorado (doing business as and referred to herein as “Club Greenwood”), respects your concerns about privacy. There are various ways that you might interact with Club Greenwood and the information you provide when doing so allows us to improve our services.  This privacy policy is intended to ensure your information is handled in a safe and responsible manner. As we continue to evolve our website and incorporate new technologies to improve communication, our privacy policy may change. Therefore, we encourage you to refer to this privacy policy on an ongoing basis to stay abreast of our most current privacy policy and practices.

This privacy policy explains:

  • What information we collect, and why we collect it;
  • How we use that information;
  • How we protect that information;
  • How you can control your information, including accessing, updating, and deleting what we store; and
  • The limited way in which we may share any information collected.

What information does the Club Greenwood collect from site visits?

Currently, www.clubgreenwood.com (the “Site”) gathers information users provide such as name, email addresses, and phone numbers, for contact purposes when users opt to fill out an e-mail submission form to inquire about our club and memberships. In some cases, we ask for other optional information including additional contact information and certain demographic information such as age and marital status.

Additionally, we collect, store, and use information about your visits to the Site and about your computer, tablet, mobile or other device through which you access the Site. This includes the following information:

  • Technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, internet service provider, device identifier, your login information, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and geographical location; and
  • Information about your visits and use of the Site, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL), clickstream to, through and from our Site, pages you viewed and searched for, page response times, length of visits to certain pages, referral source/exit pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and Site navigation and search terms used.

How do we use your information?

We may use your information to communicate special offers, promotions, and information about Club Greenwood to you via email. If you do not wish to receive these emails you will have the option to opt-out of future mailings. We may also use your information to compile usage statistics and other data regarding the use of the website services.

If you provide us with your email address while interacting with the Site, we will send you periodic emails with membership information and news about Club Greenwood. If you have previously opted out of receiving emails from us, the re-submittal or providing of updated information will be treated as a new opt-in to receive informational emails from Club Greenwood.

To opt-out of receiving promotional emails, simply click on the “unsubscribe” link located on the bottom of all our emails. Although we strive to update our email list as frequently as possible, you may receive one or more contacts from us before we are able to remove you.

Club Greenwood does not sell, rent, or otherwise provide your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information to third-parties without your consent.

We only share your information in the following ways:

Agents: We may employ other companies and individuals from time to time to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include creating and maintaining the Site, sending postal and email notices and advertisements, removing repetitive information from customer lists, analyzing data, and providing marketing assistance and/or customer service. These parties may have access to personal information needed to perform these functions; however, we prohibit any agent or third-party performing these functions and services for us from using this information for any other purpose.

Protection of Club Greenwood: We release account and other personal information when we believe release is necessary in order to comply with law; enforce or apply our Athletic and Tennis Club Policies and Rules, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Club Greenwood, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection as allowed by law.

Security of your personal data:

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards, including compliance with the State of Colorado laws regarding protection of personally identifiable information, to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. We use appropriate measures to safeguard personally identifiable information, which measures are appropriate to the type of information maintained and follow applicable laws regarding the safeguarding of any such information under our control. No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, can be 100% secure; therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. The internet by nature is a public forum, and we encourage you to use caution when disclosing information online. Often, you are in the best position to protect yourself and information you provide online. You are responsible for protecting your username and password from third-party access and for selecting passwords that are secure.

Data Retention: How long we keep your personal data:

We will retain personal information which we process on behalf of you for as long as necessary to provide services and products to you, and in accordance with any agreement in place with you and relevant laws. When you contact us, we may keep a record of your communication to help solve any issues that you might be facing. Your information may be retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirement. In conjunction with applicable state law, once your personal identifying information is no longer needed, unless longer retention is required by contractual or legal requirements, Club Greenwood shall destroy or arrange for the destruction of such information; however, no such information will be destroyed if pertinent to any ongoing or anticipated government or law enforcement investigation, proceeding, or litigation. Additionally, no personally identifying information will be destroyed if retention or destruction of such information is additionally governed by other laws of the State or the Federal Government. If there is a question as to whether information rises to the level of personally identifiable information, as defined in Section 24-73-101(4)(b) C.R.S., legal counsel will be consulted with as to whether the information should be retained or destroyed.

Your rights:

You may request from us access to, correction of, blocking of and/or deletion of your personal data in line with applicable data protection law. You may also withdraw your consent for us to process your personal data. However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent. Where your personal data is processed by us with your consent or for the performance of a contract by automated means, we will provide to you, or a third party you have chosen, your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format upon request.

Responding to requests:

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response. We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated. You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances. Also, please note that we may refuse a request for blocking and/or deletion where the processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or necessary for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.

Cookies Policy

We use cookies to enhance your experience on the Site. A cookie enables us to remember the specific page you have visited so next time you return to our Site you do not have to select the page again. We are obliged by Google Analytics to state the following:

The Site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). IP Addresses and aggregate information:

An Internet Protocol (“IP”) address is associated with your computer’s connection to the internet. We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer the Site and to maintain contact with you as you navigate through the Site. Your computer’s IP address also may be used to provide you with information based upon your navigation through the Site. Aggregate information is used to measure the visitors’ interest in, and use of, various areas of the Site and the various programs that we administer. We will rely upon aggregate information, which is information that does not identify you, such as statistical and navigational information. With this aggregate information, we may undertake statistical and other summary analyses of the visitors’ behaviors and characteristics. Our Site may contain links to third-party websites. These third-party websites are operated by companies that are outside of our control, and your activities at those third-party websites will be governed by the policies and practices of those third-parties. Club Greenwood does not in any way endorse or make any representations about such third-party websites and applications. As such, we are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such third-party websites and applications that are subject to their own privacy policies. If you choose to access such links, you are leaving our Site to access another. We strongly encourage you to review all third-party site privacy policies before submitting any of your data.

Social media and online engagement:

We occasionally use a variety of new technologies and social media options to communicate and interact with customers, potential customers, employees and potential employees. These sites and applications include popular social networking and media sites, open source software communities and more. To better engage the public in ongoing dialog, certain of our businesses use certain third-party platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest and Google+. Third-Party Websites and Applications are web-based technologies that are not exclusively operated or controlled by us. When interacting on those websites, you may reveal certain personal information to us or to third parties. Other than when used by our employees for the purpose of responding to a specific message or request, we will not use, share, or retain your personal information. If you have any concerns about a social media platform’s data and privacy policies, please review the applicable website’s policies, which are posted online.

Age:

We do not sell our services to children and this Site is not intended for or directed at children under the age of 13 years of age. As such, our Site is designed for adult user interaction. We do not intentionally collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that we may have collected personal information from someone under the age of 13 without proper consent, please contact us using the information at the end of this policy under “Contact Us.”

Changes to this policy:

We regularly review our compliance with our privacy policy. We also adhere to several self-regulatory frameworks in addition to complying with applicable law. We may change this privacy policy from time to time. If this privacy policy changes, the revised privacy policy will be posted at the “Privacy Policy” link on the Site’s homepage. If the change is significant or material, we will notify you of such a change by revising the link on the home page to read “Newly Revised Privacy Policy.” Frequent checks of our privacy policy is encouraged. Your continued use of this Site constitutes acceptance of such changes in the privacy policy, whether or not you have read the privacy policy after it has been updated.

Security policy:

The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software used by Club Greenwood is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.
