At Club Greenwood, we welcome and encourage families to enjoy the club together. To ensure a safe and respectful environment for all members, we follow guidelines recommended by the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. These organizations support youth participation in age-appropriate, supervised programs—many of which Club Greenwood proudly offers.
Parental Responsibilities & Supervision
- Parents must escort their children to and from all scheduled activities.
- Parents are responsible for their children’s behavior throughout the club.
- Adult supervision is required unless otherwise noted and must be provided by:
- An adult (18+)
- A certified youth sibling (16–17, same family)
- A family nanny (16+)
Definitions
- Adult Supervision: A responsible person 16+ (same family) or a nanny, in direct visual and verbal contact (same location, same activity).
- Youth Certification: Required for youth ages 13–15 to use the club independently. Certification must be completed with a Club Greenwood Assistant.
Club Access by Age
All Ages
May access gymnasium, indoor/outdoor pools, running track, racquetball, squash, and tennis courts with adult supervision.
Ages 3 & Under
Permitted in either adult locker room with adult supervision.
Ages 4–15
May use adult locker room of the same gender with adult supervision.
Without supervision, must use Family Locker Rooms unless Youth Certified.
Ages 9–11
May use the weight room only with a Club Greenwood Personal Trainer.
May use cardio areas, studios, and attend complimentary Group Fitness classes with adult supervision (excluding Thermal/Power Yoga and Hot Pilates).
Age 12
May use weight room with adult supervision.
May use basketball gym without supervision, provided a responsible adult is on-site.
Ages 12 & Under
Not permitted in the whirlpool, steam room, sauna, or to participate in Thermal/Power Yoga or Hot Pilates.
Ages 13–15
Must complete Youth Certification to use the club independently.
May bring guests:
Youth guests (must also be Youth Certified)
Adult guests (18+)
Ages 16–17
May supervise younger siblings.
Tennis Access (Ages 10–15)
May use outdoor courts without supervision if enrolled in Junior or Family Tennis Membership.
Ages 15 & Under
Not permitted in the Adult Leisure Pool.
Unsupervised Youth Policy
Youth not following these guidelines will be escorted to Kids’ Club or the Youth Activity Club. Parents will be charged accordingly. Repeated violations may result in membership termination. These policies apply to members, guests, and non-members.
Locker Room Policy
- No mobile devices of any kind allowed in locker rooms.
- Adult Locker Rooms are for ages 16+ only.
- Youth ages 13–15 may use Adult Locker Rooms only if Youth Certified.
- Children 3 & under may use either locker room with adult supervision.
- Supervision must include direct visual and verbal contact by someone 16+ (same family) or a nanny.
- Steam room, sauna, and whirlpool are for ages 13+.
- Families with strollers must use designated Family Locker Rooms.
- Prohibited behavior:
- Horseplay, yelling, running
- Leaving wet items on the floor
- Improper or excessive water/amenity use
- Return towels to towel drops.
- No food or drinks other than water.
Nanny Membership
Families with children 12 & under may add a nanny to their membership for an additional fee.
- Nannies must be at least 16 years old.
- A guardianship form is required and must remain on file.
- Nanny members have full club access.
Stroller Etiquette
We value and support our parents with young children. Please help us maintain a respectful and safe environment by following these guidelines:
- Not permitted: Strollers or baby carriers in the weight room, cardio areas, or group exercise studios.
- Permitted:
- On the indoor running track (be mindful of others)
- Poolside (seasonal lifeguard supervision + parental supervision)
- Family areas of the locker room (keep strollers to one side to allow locker access)
Kids’ Club is available for children ages 6 weeks and older, with age-specific rooms to support quiet space for infants and nursing mothers.
