Lifeguard Instructor Class

Must be 17 years of age. The American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Course is designed to train individuals to become instructors who can teach and certify lifeguards in lifeguarding, CPR, AED, and first aid skills. This course is intended for individuals who are already certified as lifeguards and have a strong understanding of lifeguarding techniques and skills.

During the Lifeguard Instructor Course, participants will learn how to effectively teach, demonstrate, and evaluate lifeguarding skills. The course covers topics such as water rescue skills, surveillance and recognition, first aid, CPR, AED usage, and emergency action plans. Participants will also learn instructional techniques, how to manage a classroom, and how to effectively evaluate lifeguard candidates.

The course typically includes both classroom instruction and hands-on practice. Participants will have the opportunity to practice teaching various skills and scenarios, receive feedback from instructors, and demonstrate their proficiency in teaching lifeguarding skills.

Upon successful completion of the American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Course, participants will receive certification as a Lifeguarding Instructor, allowing them to teach and certify new lifeguards in American Red Cross lifeguarding courses.
