Weightlifting 101 for Youth is a fun, safe and foundational program designed to introduce young athletes or youth new to the gym, to proper strength training techniques. Over the course of four weeks, participants will learn the basics of weightlifting, focusing on form, technique and injury prevention. Train with peers in a fun and encouraging atmosphere.  This program is the perfect way for young athletes to gain confidence in the gym, learn essential weightlifting skills and set the foundation for a lifetime of safe and effective strength training.

What Athletes Will Learn:

  • Proper Lifting Techniques: Learn key movements such as squats, deadlifts, presses and pulls, with an emphasis on safe mechanics.
  • Body Awareness and Control: Develop core strength, balance and coordination to improve movement patterns.
  • Injury Prevention: Focus on proper warm-ups, mobility exercises and progressive loading techniques to ensure safe training.
  • Progress Tracking: Athletes will set baseline measurements and track their improvements in strength and form throughout the program.

Program Breakdown:

  • Week 1: Introduction to weightlifting fundamentals, bodyweight exercises and mobility
  • Week 2: Learning compound lifts (squat, deadlift, press) with proper form and light resistanc
  • Week 3: Building consistency with technique, adding resistance and introducing tempo work
  • Week 4: Program recap, progress tracking, and introduction to safe progression for future strength training
