Three Ways a Personal Trainer Can Help You Achieve Your Fitness Goals

Have you ever found yourself wandering around Club Greenwood without a plan?

If so, you are not alone. Most people who exercise tend to only do the things they enjoy without expanding outside to what they sometimes need. It is always a great idea to start a workout program with exercises that you enjoy, but that is also how we develop injuries as we overtrain certain muscles we want to build up while neglecting the smaller supportive muscles.

There are three main ways that a personal trainer can help you achieve your fitness goals:

  1. Design a workout plan tailored for your needs – Club Greenwood trainers will assess, monitor and motivate you like never before. We understand what exercises you need to correct imbalances you may have and keep you free from injury. Often, members are not doing the exercises correctly, but they do not know it. We are here to help!
  2. Innovative exercises to build your strength – When you lift the same amount of weight week after week your body will begin to adapt to the resistance and you won’t see progress. Imagine if you decided to do 10 pushups every-day for 30 days. Do you think the pushups would get easier? Yes, they would. This is because you adapt to the resistance. It becomes harder to lose weight and becomes more difficult to sustain your current results, because the exercise imposed on the muscles is not taxing your muscle fibers anymore. Your body can go into “cruise control” when performing these. A good rule of thumb to increase weight is the “2×2 Rule.” This basically means that if you’re able to lift two more repetitions than you had planned during two previous training sessions, then it’s time to add weight. Adding 5% is generally a proper amount of weight to add as you increase the resistance.
  3. Working out more with sustained results – A research study many years ago showed that clients who train with a personal trainer get 60% better results and work out more! This is significant as you don’t want to do the exercises improperly or not get the results you desire after months and months of hard work.

Learn the proper way to warm-up, how to reduce your aches and how to have sustained results with a personal trainer today!
