Love Your Heart

Training for Longevity, Not Just Today

Your heart works hard for you every single day. This February, show it some love by training with intention-not just for how you feel today, but for how you want to feel years from now.

Heart-healthy fitness isn’t about extremes. It’s about consistency, variety, and choosing movement that supports longevity, energy, and overall well-being. At Club Greenwood, we believe the best training plan is one you can sustain for life.

One of the best ways to strengthen your heart is interval training. Short bursts of higher effort followed by recovery challenge your cardiovascular system in a powerful way without requiring endless hours at the gym. A great place to start is working out three times a week for at least 30 minutes. Over time, as your fitness improves, you can gradually increase the intensity. Progress doesn’t have to be rushed, it just has to be consistent.

Of course, heart health doesn’t only happen during workouts. Some of the most impactful movement comes from the things you do every day. Walking more, taking a yoga class, stretching, or simply choosing to move instead of staying sedentary all day helps keep your heart active and resilient. These moderate activities also support recovery and stress management, which your heart definitely appreciates.

If you’re looking for low-impact ways to get your heart rate up, Club Greenwood has plenty of options. Vinyasa flow yoga builds strength and gentle cardiovascular endurance, while guided meditation and restorative yoga help calm the nervous system and reduce stress. Water aerobics in the shallow pool offers effective cardio without stressing the joints, and slow biking-keeping it under 10 miles per hour-is a steady, enjoyable way to support heart health at your own pace.

This February is the perfect time to begin your journey. We’re excited to introduce the Heart Health Fitness Challenge, designed to help you build momentum and stay motivated. When you join, you’ll save $120, and when you complete eight workouts within your first 30 days, you’ll earn $80 back. It’s a simple, rewarding way to invest in yourself and your heart.

Your heart works hard for you every day. This month, let’s return the favor by training with intention, moving with purpose, and focusing on a healthier future at Club Greenwood.
