Exercise and Overall Well Being

Exercise and Overall Well Being

I know how vitally important it is to fit exercise into my life on a daily basis. Regular physical activity improves our bodies, our minds and our quality of life. It helps reduce our risk of chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, many types of cancer, depression, anxiety and dementia. As many as 110,000 deaths per year could be prevented if adults aged 40 years old or older increased their moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) by even just 10 minutes per day, according to a study by the National Cancer Institute and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Whether it is a tough cycling class with my amazing group, a HIT FIT class, strength training with my husband or a walk with a buddy or my dogs, I try to do something every single day. I rely on the Myzone Activity Tracker to keep me accountable and connect with other club Myzone users. I like to keep the app near me when I am working out so that I can watch my intensity. Often, if I see I am close to moving up to the next color level of intensity, I will do it! Another fun benefit is the Myzone Challenges we offer regularly. Myzone Effort Points (MEPs) put us all on the same playing field, according to our personal fitness levels. Rewards based on relative intensity (% of maximal heart rate) create fun, friendly challenges within our club, gauge the intensity of our workouts and help us strive for personal improvement. A number of my peers say, “When I forget to wear my tracker, it feels like I didn’t work out!”
